Garbage (landfill)
The garbage chute is reserved exclusively for non-hazardous household waste that cannot be composted or recycled.
What to Include:
- Soft Plastics: Crinkly plastic bags, candy wrappers, chip bags, stand-up pouches, and bubble wrap.
- Lined Paper & Styrofoam: Coffee cups, wax paper, parchment paper, and styrofoam food takeout containers.
- Hygiene Items: Makeup pads, dental floss, baby wipes, cleaning wipes, diapers, and pet waste bags.
- Broken Glass & Ceramics: Damaged drinking glasses, plates, lightbulbs, and mirrors.
What to Avoid: - Wrapping broken glass in layers of thick newspaper before throwing it into the chute keeps our staff safe from cuts.
- Never throw electronics, household batteries, or chemicals down the chute. Bring these to the property manager's designated e-waste disposal bin.
