Organics Waste
What Belongs in Organics?
Diverting food waste from landfills helps create renewable natural gas. Please place all accepted organic matter directly into your green bin.
What to Include:
- All Food Scraps: Fruits, vegetables, meat, fish, poultry, small bones, dairy, bread, and table leftovers.
- Coffee & Tea Waste: Loose coffee grounds, paper coffee filters, and traditional paper tea bags.
- Houseplants: Dried flowers and houseplants, provided all soil is completely removed.
- Soiled Paper: Food-contaminated paper towels, dinner napkins, and greasy pizza box bases.
What to Avoid: - Remove all plastic wrap, grocery stickers, rubber bands, and twist ties before tossing food away.
- Do not toss commercial "compostable plastic" items (like coffee pods or cutlery) into the green bin, as they do not break down in the facility.
